After a month in energetic Aries, the SUN will move into TAURUS on Wednesday 20th April.

Not pioneering like Aries, Taurus, is an Earth sign, the Settler, who needs stability and security (and preferably comfort), and then is much more grounded.

When I think of Taurus I think of the children’s story of Ferdinand the Bull who was not interested in bull fights in the big cities of Spain, preferring to sit calmly in a field under the shade of a cork tree, smelling the flowers. I also think of lovable Winnie the Pooh. Both were content if they had a full tummy, and not interested in the “high life”.

Taurus is a Fixed sign, so can be strong willed as well as strong physically. Taurus people are usually calm and controlled until they feel pushed to the limit……think of the saying “a bull in a china shop”.

Other keywords for Taurus are practical, reliable, patient, determined, sensual and loyal. The shadow side can be possessive, self indulgent, lazy, slow and stubborn.

Male Taureans (including Taurus rising) can often be recognised by their strong, thick neck.The body parts associated with Taurus are the jaw, ears, throat and neck.

Around 6.30am AEST on 1st May, there will be a SOLAR ECLIPSE at 10 degrees TAURUS (not visible in Australia).

A Solar eclipse occurs when the Moon comes between the Sun and Earth, blocking light and energy, which can be a bit disruptive.

A Solar eclipse is always a New Moon, a time when our life often takes a new direction, particularly if it’s impacting a planet or angle in our chart. The change could be small or large. But because of the “dark” we may not yet know what it will be. However, you will probably already have an inkling of what it is. It will likely be to do with the area of your life denoted by the House in which this eclipse occurs. E.g if the eclipse falls in the 10th house of career in your birth chart, you may get a promotion. Being in Taurus, the sign related to money/what you value, you would expect to get a raise. Maybe your money/value system (2nd House) is under review
