The Waxing and Waning Moon
Since the Full Moon on Sunday 22nd, the MOON has been WANING, i.e gradually growing smaller. After 2 weeks it will be barely visible, just a sliver, and that will be a New Moon

.
It’s handy to remember that when the moon is waning is the best time for selling, getting rid of things and finishing off projects.
Then after the New Moon, the moon’s light gradually increases (waxes) again, until the Full Moon

.
This is one moon cycle.
When the MOON is WAXING is the best time for starting things and buying (you’ll get it for a better price).
Spring is just around the corner. You could try using the moon phases as a guide for your gardening.
During a waxing moon, because the moon is growing in energy, plant anything that grows above the ground.
When the moon is waning, the energy is “going down”, so for 1 week after the full moon, in the third quarter, plant root vegetables, anything that grows below the ground and downwards.
During the last quarter, the week leading up to the New Moon, there is so little energy, it’s only good for things like weeding or composting.
If you want to take it a step further, check the current zodiac sign of the moon…..
Remember the moon only stays in each sign about two and a half days.
